Turkish Musket,  1824-25 Turkish Musket Rifle, Dated 1824-25. Dimensions; Length: 156.5 cm, Calibre: 15 mm, Weight: 5076 g. This is a late example of a traditional Turkish rifle, with a miquelet lock, a hexagonal butt, a “ball” trigger without a trigger-guard, and a long barrel. The barrel dates almost a century earlier and is inlaid in gold with a poem referring to the gun’s accuracy in the service of Islam. The Turkish armies were originally equipped with matchlock muskets, which were replaced in the 17th century with those with a miquelet mechanism.  Türk Tüfeği, 1824-25 Türk misket tüfeği, 1824-25 tarihli. Yatagan with Scabbard Turkish Yatagan with Scabbard (Yatağan ve Kın), dated 1802-1803.  Made of Steel, silver, gold and coral; Length 73,7 cm. Weight 737,1 g. The Yatagan or Yataghan is a type of Turkish short saber which differentiate by a single-edged blade that curves slightly inward and by a hilt with no guard and two flared wings at the pommel. Yatağan ile Kını Türk Yatağanı ve kını, 1802-1803 tarihli. Çelik, gümüş, altın ve mercandan yapılmış; Uzunluk 74,3 cm. Ağılık 737,1 gr. Yatağan hafif içe kıvrımlı ve tek tarafı keskin yalımı, balçaksız kabzası ve iki kulaklı topuzu ile ayırt edilen kısa bir Türk kılıç türdür.

Turkish Yatagan  Turkish Yatagan (Yatağan). Inscribed with the date 1238 (A.D. 1822), the name of the maker ("Made by Abdullah"), six Turkish verses of good will towards the owner, and the names of two owners (Ismael Gazi and Abdul Kadar). The blade elaborately decorated in gold and corals set into the handle, length 74,3 cm. The Yatagan or Yataghan is a type of Turkish short saber which differentiate by a single-edged blade that curves slightly inward and by a hilt with no guard and the pommel being shaped like large ears. Yatagan was carried in "lying down" fashion in the waistband. Türk Yatağanı Türk Yatağanı.
