Turkish Miquelet Rifle "Çakmaklı Tüfek", 18th century

Turkish Miquelet Rifle Turkish Miquelet Rifle, Late 18th century. Made of steel, wood, ivory, copper alloys, mother-of-pearl, gold and silver. Length: 154.31 cm, Calibre: 12 mm, Weight: 4862 g. The name "Muhammad Ayyubi" was inscribed on the lock and the barrel is marked with a Turkish test mark. The miquelet is an early and sturdy form of flintlock popular throughout the Turkish Empire from the 17th into the 19th century.  Türk Çakmaklı Tüfek Türk, Miquelet mekanizmalı, çakmaklı tüfek, Geç 18. Yüzyıl. Çelik, ahşap, fildişi, bakır alaşımları, sedef, altın ve gümüşten imal edilmiştir. Uzunluk: 154.31 cm, Kalibre: 12 mm, Ağırlık: 4862 gr. Ateşleme mekanizması üzerine "Muhammed Eyyubi" ismi yazılmış ve namlu bir Türk test işaretiyle damgalanmıştır.  Miquelet, 17. yüzyıldan 19. yüzyıla kadar Türk İmparatorluğu genelinde popüler olan çakmaklı tüfeklerin erken ve sağlam bir şeklidir.

Turkish Musket Gun, Dated 1824-25

Turkish Musket,  1824-25 Turkish Musket Rifle, Dated 1824-25. Dimensions; Length: 156.5 cm, Calibre: 15 mm, Weight: 5076 g. This is a late example of a traditional Turkish rifle, with a miquelet lock, a hexagonal butt, a “ball” trigger without a trigger-guard, and a long barrel. The barrel dates almost a century earlier and is inlaid in gold with a poem referring to the gun’s accuracy in the service of Islam. The Turkish armies were originally equipped with matchlock muskets, which were replaced in the 17th century with those with a miquelet mechanism.  Türk Tüfeği, 1824-25 Türk misket tüfeği, 1824-25 tarihli. Seljuk Gold Ring Gold Ring, Seljuk (Selçuk) Dynasty period. Diameter: 2,2 cm, 12th -13th century. The ring is engraved with an exceptional number of figures. Such figures become common in Islamic art in all the regions from Central Asia to Anatolia ruled by Turk dynasties, such as the Ghaznavids and the Seljuqs. The Seljuqs or Seljuks was a dynasty from the Qynyq (Kınık) branch of Oghuz (Oğuz) Turks. Gold Coin "Dinar" of Tughril "Tuğrul" Beg

Turkish Seljuk Dynasty Gold Coin The Dinar (Turkish Seljuk Dynasty Gold Coin) minted by Tughril Beg (990-1063) in Rayy, 20 mm x 4.1 grams, dated 1061 (AH 453). The obverse is inscribed with verses 3-4 from Surah Ar-Rum of the Holy Quran, along with a bow & arrow tamgha. The reverse is Inscribed with verse 33 from Surah At-Tawbah of the Holy Quran. Tughril Beg (990-1063) was the founder of the Turkish Seljuk Empire, ruling from 1037 to 1063.  Obverse Reverse Türk Selçuklu Hanedanı Altın Sikke Tuğrul Bey (990-1063) tarafından Rey’de bastırılan, 1061 (H. 453) tarihli, Dinar (Türk Selçuklu Hanedanı Altın Sikke), 20 mm x 4,1 gram.  Ön yüzünde Kur'an-ı Kerim'in Rûm Suresinin 3-4 numaralı ayetleri yanı sıra yay ve ok damgası işlidir. Arka yüzde Kur'an-ı Kerim'in Tevbe Suresinin 33. Ayeti işlidir. Tuğrul Bey (990-1063) Türk Selçuklu İmparatorluğunun kurucusu ve 1037'den 1063'e kadar hükümdarıydı.

The Naval Battle of Zonchio,  AD 1499 The Naval Battle of Zonchio; Anonymous, woodcut print, hand-coloured using stencils, AD 1499, Venetia. This is possibly the first print of an actual naval battle. The Naval Battle of Zonchio (Turkish: 1. İnebahtı Deniz Muharebesi) took place on August 1499. It was the first naval battle in history where cannons were used on ships. The combatants shown are a Turkish carrack commanded by Kemal Ali, and two Venetian carracks commanded by Antonio Loredan and Albano d'Armer. Venetian and Turkish ships are labelled NAVE LOREDAN, NAVE TURCHESCA and NAVE DEL ARMER. The Turks were victorious. Bektashi Dervish Axe Turkish, Bektashi Dervish Axe; made of steel, silver, copper and wood, dated A.H. 1241/A.D. 1825-26. Length: 132 cm Weight: 1420 g.  Large axes with crescent-shaped blades were originally designed for use in battle, but they also served as symbols of authority for a dignitary or religious mystics (Sufis or dervishes). This late example is decorated in silver with Qur'anic verses and poems in Turkish by Hatayi (Shah Ismâil I). Shah Ismâil I, the founder of the Safavid dynasty, was a poet who wrote under the penname, Hatayi (Khata’i), he composed poetry in Turkish. His poems recited for centuries in Alevi-Bektashi circles of the Turkish Empire even under the rule of Ottoman dynasty. Turkish Mace "Bozdoğan, Gürz" dated 1648–87

Mace (Bozdoğan, Gürz) Turkish Mace (Bozdoğan, Gürz), made of silver, copper alloy (niello), leather and wood, dated 1648–87. This delicately crafted silver-gilt mace, with tulip designs, was an insignia of command in the Turkish army. Length 60.96 cm, Weight 535 g. A mace is a weapon that uses a heavy knob on the end of a handle to deliver powerful blows. Türk  Topuz ( Bozdoğan,Gürz) Türk Bozdoğan (Gürz, Topuz), 1648-87 arası tarihli, gümüş, bakır alaşımları (Savat), deri ve ahşaptan yapılmış. Özenle hazırlanmış, gümüş kaplama, lale tasarımlı bu Gürz, Türk ordusunda komuta ve rütbe alametiydi.  Uzunluk 60.96 cm, Ağırlık 535 g. Bozdoğan (Gürz, Topuz), güçlü darbeler sağlamak için bir sapın ucunda ağır bir tokmak kullanılan bir silahtır.

The Turkish armies were originally equipped with matchlock muskets, which were replaced in the 17th century with those with a miquelet mechanism. The barrel of this example is inscribed with the name of Cezayirli Hasan Ghazi Pasha (1713-1790), grand admiral (Kaptan-ı Derya) of the Turkish navy from 1770 to 1790. Türk Çakmaklı Silah Miquelet ateşleme mekanizmalı Türk misket tüfeği, 1784-1785 tarihli. Boyutlar; Uzunluk: 118 cm, Kalibre: 20 mm, Ağırlık: 3496 gr.  Türk orduları aslında “matchlock” tüfekler ile teçhiz edilmişti 17. yüzyılda bunlar “miquelet” mekanizması olanlarla yer değiştirdi. Bu örneğin namlusunda 1770 ile 1790 yılları arasında Türk donanmasında Kaptan-ı Derya olan Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Paşanın (1713-1790) adı yazılıdır.

Turkish Saber "Kilij", 16th century.

Turkish Kilij Turkish Kilij (Kılıç, literally "sword") from 16th century. The sword is made of watered steel, with jade grip, golden guard and decorated with inscripitions, gold and ruby.  A “Kilij” is a type of one-handed, single edged and moderately curved saber used by the Turks throughout history starting from the Hsiung-nu period. The Turkish root verb "kır-" means "to break" with the suffix "-inç" makes "kır-ınç" (instrument for breaking) becomes kılınç, then kılıç. Türk Kılıcı 16. yüzyıla ait Türk Kılıcı. Kılıç çifte su verilmiş çelikten yapılmış olup, yeşim taşı kabzalı, altın balçaklıdır, altın kakma yazı ve yakutlarla süslenmiştir. Kılıç, Asya Hunları döneminden başlayarak tarih boyunca Türkler tarafından kullanıla gelmiş, tek elle kullanılan, tek tarafı kesin, hafif kavisli bir süvari silahıdır. Turkish Turban Helmet Turkish Turban Helmet with Aventail (Peçelikli Miğfer), stamped with the Kayı Boyu Tamgha, late 15th century. This turban helmet retains the mail aventail that protected the lower half of the face and neck. The aventail is fixed with a lead seal stamped with the Kayı tribe Tamgha used in the Ottoman Dynasty arsenals. A tamgha (stamp, seal) is an abstract seal used by Turks as the emblem of a particular tribe. The KAYI tribe (Turkish: Kayı boyu) is a sub-branch of the BOZOK Tribal federation of OGHUZ Turks. Osman I, founder of Ottoman Dynasty was a hereditary leader in the Kayı tribe. Royal arsenal of the Ottoman Dynasty used Kayı Tamgha as it’s distinctive mark on every kind of weaponry. Turkish Yatagan  Turkish Yatagan (Yatağan). Inscribed with the date 1238 (A.D. 1822), the name of the maker ("Made by Abdullah"), six Turkish verses of good will towards the owner, and the names of two owners (Ismael Gazi and Abdul Kadar). The blade elaborately decorated in gold and corals set into the handle, length 74,3 cm. The Yatagan or Yataghan is a type of Turkish short saber which differentiate by a single-edged blade that curves slightly inward and by a hilt with no guard and the pommel being shaped like large ears. Trabzon - Atatürk Pavilion "Atatürk Köşkü"

Atatürk Pavilion The building which is surrounded by pine trees, located at Soguksu district was constructed in 1890. Atatürk visited Trabzon for the first time on 15 September 1924, during his short sightseeing tour to Soguksu, he saw the pavilion and liked it very much. In June 1937, Atatürk visited Trabzon for a third and last time, he stayed in this building for two nights. On 6 August 1942, the pavilion was bought by the Trabzon Municipality to be redesigned as a museum. Today the pavilion, with its large flower garden, is open to visitors as the Atatürk Museum under the management of the Trabzon municipality.  Atatürk Köşkü Soğuksu semtinde bulunan çam ağaçları ile çevrili bina 1890 yılında inşa edilmiştir. 15 Eylül 1924 tarihinde ilk kez Trabzon'u ziyaret eden Atatürk Soğuksuya yaptığı kısa gezi turu sırasında köşkü görmüş ve çok beğenmiştir. Armour was constructed of small interlocking rings, called mail and reinforced with steel plates to cover the vital areas of the torso and stamped on the front of the lower left plate with the Kayı tribe Tamgha.
